Welcome

This new and improved web site is meant to keep the citizens of Frederick County aware of the issues that are being discussed and my views on those issues. I always welcome feedback and hope you will share your views and/or concerns with me.

Live on a gravel road? Why is it gravel?

To the surprise of many who have moved into our beautiful county, the county government does not maintain any public roadways. Whether it is a local secondary road, primary road (example Route 11 or 7) or the Interstate Route 81, all of them are maintained by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The county is in VDOT’s Staunton District with an area headquarters in Edinburg. Locally we have two maintainance operations sites that service our county, one on Rte. 50 west and one east of Stephens City.
